Air passenger traffic at highest level since start of pandemic
Passenger traffic at US airports is now at its highest since the pandemic began. The Transportation Security Administration screened more than 1.3 million on both Friday and Sunday, for a new high.
Numbers passing through airport checkpoints have surpassed one million daily for several consecutive days now as growing Covid inoculation rates spur more confidence in air travel. There are also signals that the upcoming spring break season will continue the upward trend.
Still, US passenger traffic remains about 50% down compared to 2019.
