AirAsia will launch a new route from Singapore to the Philippine holiday island of Cebu next month.
The route will operate four times a week beginning November 25.
AirAsia also flies from Cebu to Incheon, South Korea, Taipei from November 25, and Kuala Lumpur, which increases from three to four times weekly on October 29.
"The addition of the Cebu-Singapore route enables us to strengthen our Cebu hub and further connect Cebuanos to our ASEAN neighbors," Philippines AirAsia chief executive Captain Dexter Comendador said.
The airline also plans more services from Mactan Cebu International Airport.
"We started our hub in Cebu in 2013, serving domestic routes. We observed the growing potential Cebu has especially that airports in Metro Manila are now congested. And we find it hard to expand there so Cebu is actually the best alternative outside Metro Manila," said Jenny Bugarin-Tan, Airasia head of communications for the Philippines.
