Airbus has ramped up its legal spat with Qatar Airways by cancelling a $6 billion aircraft contract with the airline. Qatar Air called it ‘a matter of considerable regret and frustration.’
The airline seeks more than $600 million in a legal dispute over alleged problems with the Airbus A350 aircraft. The airline says fuselage paint is peeling, which exposes meshing which insulates aircraft against lightning strikes.
The airline grounded 21 A350 jets due to the problem. Airbus maintains there is no safety issue.
