Alaska Air passengers evacuated due to cellphone fire
Alaska Airlines was forced to evacuate passengers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport due to a smoking cellphone. Passengers were removed from the plane which had just arrived from New Orleans because the handset ‘overheated and began sparking’ the airline said.
Smoke caused ‘hazy’ conditions in the cabin as 129 passengers and six crew were deplaned via an evacuation slide. Two passengers were taken to hospital for treatment for ‘minor scrapes and bruises.’
