Las Vegas based carrier Allegiant Air has announced two new seasonal routes to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Beginning December 17, Allegiant will launch weekly flights to San Juan from Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
"We’re thrilled to now be offering travelers nonstop service to San Juan, and we’re even more pleased to see Allegiant’s continued growth," said Candace McGraw, CEO of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport.
"This is the first time we’ve been able to offer low-cost carrier service to Puerto Rico, and we’re excited that San Juan now becomes CVG’s 54th nonstop destination."
It follows the announcement last month of Allegiant’s first route to Puerto Rico from Orlando Sanford, which begins just days earlier on December 14.
It is part of a network expansion of seven new routes which includes year-round twice weekly services to Austin from Pittsburgh and St. Petersburg, Fl, New Orleans to Concord, N.C., and Dayton, Ohio to Punta Gorda, Fl.
The seventh route is a twice weekly seasonal service from Portsmouth, N.H. to St. Petersburg, Fl, beginning on November 17.
"We’re very excited to add several new routes to the Allegiant route map today," Jude Bricker, Allegiant’s chief operating officer, says in a statement. "These new nonstop flights are launching just in time for our travelers to start planning their winter travel," said Jude Bricker, Allegiant’s chief operating officer.
