Australia bans all flights from India
Australia has suspended all incoming flights from India until the mid- May. Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the temporary ban takes effect immediately and will last until at least 15 May.
Covid cases have surged to more than 300,000 a day, and multiple countries have also banned direct flights. Australia reduced the number of flights coming into the country from India by 30% last week.
India has recorded more than 17 million cases with currently more than 2,000 daily deaths
