DUBAI – Best Western International is keen to extend its footprint in the Middle East and is looking to Saudi Arabia for opportunities.
Best Western has existing properties in Dubai, Bahrain and Doha and five new builds will follow in Dubai, Kuwait and Muscat.
In Dubai, The 320-room Best Western Premier Dhow Palace Hotel will be followed by the 222-room Best Western Premier Creek Hotel
Varanyou Tipayamontri, Best Western international development manager Asia, said that that the company had come to the Middle East at the right time.
“We are not coming here late. We are being approached by small independent groups who have hit tough times and want our help.â€
Glenn de Souza, Best Western vice president operations Asia, said, “Construction costs have fallen sharply since the advent of the economic crisis, making it a good time for developers to build hotels that will be ready in two years to attract the upsurge in tourism when the economy strengthens.”
