Best Western revs up high-speed service
Nearly 2,400 Best Westerns or 95% of the chain now offer high-speed internet service, the chain announced.
The service was completed in less than a year, making it one of the largest initiatives ever undertaken in the hotel industry and one of the fastest technological improvements, according to company officials.
Most Best Western hotels went beyond the minimum requirements of 15% of the rooms having high-speed internet, according to Mike Kistner, CIO and senior vice president.
The majority of members now offer high-speed service in 50 to 100% of their rooms, he added.
“Considering the normal changes that occur in membership as properties enter and leave the Best Western system, we define our program goals achieved at 95%,” he said.
He said 99% of the hotels will have the service by the end of the year.
