Korean Air has agreed to order 30 Boeing Dreamliner jets as the airline looks to refresh its long haul fleet.
The airline will buy 10 787-9s and 10 new 787-10 jets valued at $6.3 billion at current list prices, and will also lease an additional 10 Dreamliners.
It was the first aircraft deal announced by Boeing at the Paris Air Show.
It is a boost for embattled Boeing which began the air show with an apology over its handling of the 737 Max crisis.
In contrast rival Airbus announced $13 billion of orders on the first day of the show.
The new jets will increase Korean Air’s long haul fleet four-fold as it looks to expand its fleet as well as replace older jets.
The carrier currently has 10 787-9 Dreamliners.
"The planes will ‘become the backbone of our long haul fleet for many year to come’ said Korean Air chairman Walter Cho.
