British Airways is using Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger, to promote its First class route to Russia after easyJet launched its Gatwick to Moscow service last month.
EasyJet started its no frills flights on March 18 after beating off competition from Virgin Atlantic to secure rights to the route.
But British Airways has retaliated by promoting its service complete with its ‘inclusive fares, free food and drinks, free seat selection and a high free baggage allowance’.
And it has used singer and TV personality, Scherzinger, to differentiate the airlines further.
She said: "I spend a lot of time doing the LA commute, so my preference is to fly British Airways First Class. I’ll try and eat a light dinner, preferably seafood as I find it’s easier to digest when I’m flying.
"It’s a bit of an indulgence to be brought dinner in bed, so I take full advantage of it – then I’ll try and get some sleep or listen to music."
She added: "The first time I visited Russia was with the Pussycat Dolls. My first impression was that it was a beautiful place with incredible architecture and lovely people."
Russia has been warned to work on its image after research showed European visitors were being put off, see other story.
