Canada could start easing US border curbs later this month
US-Canada border restrictions could slowly begin to ease from later this month. Canadian border town mayors said the federal government may start easing Covid-19 restrictions at the border from 22 June if Canada’s vaccination program remains on track.
PM Justin Trudeau has previously said at least 75% of the population should have received their first Covid vaccine dose and at least 20% should be fully vaccinated before any restrictions are eased.
It is close to meeting the first target but less than 10% of the population is fully vaccinated so far.
