A Canadian tourist shot dead in the Jamaican resort town of Negril at the weekend has been named as Andre Palakai of Ontario.
Two men are being sought for the gun attack which has left police mystified.
Palakai was walking back to his hotel with his girlfriend and father when two men pulled up on a motorbike, shot him and sped off.
The other two were not harmed in the attack.
Police said there was no evidence that robbery was the motive.
The attack has been condemned by the tourism industry with one hotelier calling it ‘a sad day for the industry in Negril.’
Authorities have offered a big reward for information leading to the capture of the shooters.
"It is very early in the investigations and we are going to be offering $2 million to anyone who has information that will lead to the capture of these killers," said police commissioner Carl Williams.
