Carnival celebrates steel cutting for Carnival Festivale

Carnival Cruise Line marked a steel cutting ceremony for its fourth Excel-class ship, Carnival Festivale.
The event took place at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, and officially marks the start of construction for the 6,400-guest vessel.
Festivale will be powered by liquefied natural gas and is scheduled to launch in spring 2027, sailing from Port Canaveral.
Onboard it will feature new areas including two music-themed zones and an outdoor family zone on the top three decks, named Sunsation Point.
This will incorporate Carnival Waterworks Ultra, offering six slides and two family raft rides, two splash pads and dedicated baby splash areas.
Additionally, it will have 1,000 interconnecting cabins, nearly 70% more than on the first three Excel class ships.
Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said: “Each of her three sister ships is a great success and we are excited to once again partner with Meyer Werft as we continue to build upon the revolutionary Excel platform.”
Further information regarding onboard areas and itineraries for Carnival Festivale will be announced in due course.
