Carnival Corp hires chief ethics and compliance officer
Carnival Corp. has appointed its first chief ethics and compliance officer.
Former federal prosecutor Peter Anderson was named in the role which was mandated as part of a legal settlement agreed to avoid further charges in a 2016 criminal pollution conviction.
Anderson will be based at the Miami HQ and becomes a member of the executive leadership team reporting to Carnival Corp. president and CEO Arnold Donald.
"Pete’s knowledge of global environmental law and corporate compliance makes him a valued addition to our leadership team," said Donald.
Anderson will oversee Carnival’s compliance function including employee training and lead the company’s environmental stewardship program Operation Oceans Alive.
He was most recently head of the Compliance Group at law firm of Beveridge & Diamond and previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Charlotte.
