Carnival Cruise line has inked a five-year port agreement with the City of Norfolk.
The city will upgrade the Half Moone Cruise Center and the Carnival Magic will sail from the port in 2021.
Magic will offer a dozen sailings from Norfolk and will become the largest ship to operate from the port.
It will sail four-to-eight day itineraries around the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Bermuda.
Port upgrades include a new boarding bridge to speed up the embarkation process.
‘Our cruises from Norfolk have been very well received by our guests, and this new agreement speaks volumes about our confidence in growing this market,’ said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy.
The ship will undergo a two-week drydock refurbishment at Cadiz, Spain before heading for Norfolk.
