China airlines to blacklist unruly passengers

Sunday, 02 Feb, 2016 0

Chinese airlines are to blacklist badly behaved passengers due to growing concerns about rowdy behaviour on flights.

Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines and Spring Air will share details of unruly passengers and refuse to let them fly.

They say the worst passengers have beaten up staff, refused to board or blocked plane exits.

Recent incidents include a passenger starting a fire in the first class cabin of a plane in eastern China and 30 Chinese tourists in Thailand refusing to boad a flight after enduring a 10-hour delay.

In 2014, an AirAsia flight returned to Bangkok after a passenger threw hot noodles over a member of the cabin crew when she was refused permission to switch seats.
