China F1 Grand Prix called off

China’s return to the Formula 1 racing calendar will be delayed at least another year.

It was due to return in 2023 but is now postponed because of China’s Covid-zero policy.

Formula 1 was last held in China in 2019.

The BBC says the issue is China’s insistence that F1 staff won’t be given exemptions from quarantine if contracting Covid-19.

The race was due to take place in Shanghai in April 2023.
