CLIA arms agents with new destination tools
CLIA UK & Ireland is launching a set of destination modules to help travel agents sell cruise holidays.
With destination being the number one reason people choose to cruise, the association has created 57 destination modules, covering more than 350 worldwide ports.
The modules cover various geographical regions including South America, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Alaska, North Asia and the South Pacific.
The key features of the ports and regions will be highlighted with photographs, maps and facts, and accompanied by an informative commentary.
The Destination Series is a joint venture between CLIA UK & Ireland and CLIA Australasia whose training and development manager, Peter Kollar, spent many years as the shore excursion manager for Crystal Cruises.
CLIA UK & Ireland director Andy Harmer said: "This informative series not only provides agents with key information but it enables them to truly add value by being knowledgeable about these ports and regions and demonstrating their expertise to potential customers.
"It also enables them to suggest additional pre- and post- cruise opportunities, gives an understanding of popular excursions and illustrates the key motivators for customers choosing particular itineraries."
The first modules within the Destination Series will be launched at the beginning of April.
