Club Med announces new Asia Pacific leadership structure
Global resort group Club Med has announced a management shakeup by splitting its Asia operations into two separate units.
The current setup will split into two specialised business units – APAC Markets and APAC Resorts effective July 1, 2019.
"This significant moment in our development requires us to focus on our growth drivers – sales and marketing to drive brand preference amongst consumers, and to accelerate the opening of new resorts and strengthen the in-resort guest experience across APAC," said Henri Giscard d’Estaing, President of Club Med.
Xavier Desaulles CEO of APAC Markets business unit, will head up commercial operations across Greater China, Japan, Korea, South East Asia and the Pacific.
He has been CEO of the East and South Asia Pacific markets since 2016.
Jean-Charles Fortoul becomes CEO of APAC Resorts.
He has held key leadership positions at Club Med since 2002 managing markets in Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Previously he led sales operations for nine locations in Southeast Asia across Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Myanmar.
Like Desaulles, he will also be based in Shanghai.
