Cruise passengers killed in bus crash
Two passengers on Celebrity Summit have been killed and others injured in a bus crash in the British Virgin Islands.
The bus was carrying 20 passengers when the accident happened on Sunday morning as it drove down the Cane Garden Bay Hill on Tortola, the largest of the islands. No other vehicles were involved.
Celebrity’s parent company Royal Caribbean issued a statement on Twitter saying it was saddened to report the deaths of two Celebrity Summit guests.
It said several others are being treated and the ship’s captain is at the hospital assisting guests and coordinatintg with local officials.
Police said the two victims were found dead at the scene and the driver was uninjured.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is still underway.
