Cruise veteran takes over Delta Queen

Monday, 08 Jul, 2004 0

The Delta Queen Steamboat Company Inc. has named cruise industry veteran Bruce Nierenberg as president.

He replaces former president Rich Abramson, who was recently promoted to president of Delaware North Companies Sportservice, the company’s flagship subsidiary.

Mr Nierenberg was a founding partner of Premier Cruise Lines (The Bib Red Boats) in the 1980s. That line later became the official cruise line of Walt Disney World.

Mr Nierenberg is generally credited with bringing families with children into the cruise market. He also pioneered many products now widely used in the cruise industry.
