Delta Air Lines is bullish on a strong summer as it reinstated its 2025 profit outlook.
It says there has been a small rally after relatively weak bookings earlier in the year.
The positive news boosted Delta by 11% in trading, with rival airlines’ shares also rising.
In the last quarter Delta said the uncertainty of tariffs was unsettling for its profit outlook.
“People are still traveling. What they’ve done is they’ve shifted their booking patterns a little bit. They’re holding off making plans until they’re a little closer in to their travel dates,” said CEO Ed Bastion.
In the three months ended June 30,, Delta revenue was $15.51 billion.
The airline said premium booking values are up, while ‘our core consumer is in good shape and continues to prioritize travel,’ Bastion added.
“We expect both consumer and corporate confidence to improve in the second half of the year, creating the environment for travel demand to accelerate.”
