Delta resuming nonstop Mexico City flights from Minneapolis

After a gap of several years, Delta Air Lines will resume flying to Mexico City from its Twin Cities hub.

Nonstop daily service begins from Minneapolis-St Paul on June 8, 2019 on Airbus A319 jets.

MSP becomes the sixth US city to serve Mexico City nonstop.

Thanks to Delta’s agreement with Aeromexico, travelers can connect to 41 destinations in Mexico and Latin America.

The route is operated in conjunction with partner Aeromexico.

"This new service and the connections from Mexico City to destinations beyond will make travel between Minnesota and locations south of the border easier and more convenient," said airport authority CEO Brian Ryks.

MSP is Delta’s second-largest hub and has bagged 52 new routes in the past three years.

It set a new passenger record in 2017, with more than 38 million travelers.

The Minneapolis-Mexico City route is still subject to government approval.
