The Dreamworld theme park tragedy has sparked a ‘health and safety blitz’ of all theme parks in Queensland.
Workplace inspectors will carry out checks on all rides and attractions over the next month, Queensland industrial relations minister Grace Grace said.
This includes Dreamworld itself, where four people died on a river rapids ride last week.
Full safety audits will also take place at Wet’n’Wild, Sea World, Aussie World, Australia Zoo and Movie World them parks.
"This is about protecting visitors to our theme parks and restoring public confidence in Queensland’s prime tourism assets ahead of the busy Christmas holiday season," Grace said in a statement.
Queensland’s workplace health and safety laws will also be looked at to see if they need strengthening.
Lawmakers will look at introducing a new offence of gross negligence causing death, and increasing penalties for workplace-related deaths and injuries.
"It is simply not enough for us to be compliant with our current laws, we need to be sure our laws keep pace with international research and new technologies," state premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said at a state political conference.
"The audit will also consider whether existing penalties are sufficient to act as deterrents and whether these should be strengthened to contain provisions relating to gross negligence causing death."
