Eurostar sees surge in business over air terror alert
Eurostar claims its traveller numbers have increased by 27% since tougher airport security measures were introduced following last week’s terror scare.
The rail operator said it carried an extra 28,000 travellers over the first four days (August 10-13) of air travel disruption.
And, despite the unexpected surge in demand, it said punctuality averaged 94% over the four days.
Eurostar is expecting increased demand to continue this week, as travellers seek to avoid continuing airport delays.
