FAA issues 5G warning for Boeing 737s
The Federal Aviation Administration is warning that 5G wireless operations can compromise the safe operation of Boeing 737 aircraft.
However, is the FAA says the issue now poses little practical impactf for airlines.
Most airports now have a 5G wireless buffer zone protecting aircraft or do not have 5G coverage altogether, mostly negating the possible safety risk.
Still, the directive warns of possible ‘increased flight crew workload while on approach’ which could result in ‘reduced ability of the flight crew to maintain safe flight and landing of the airplane.’
The notice affects about 2,400 airplanes in the US.
