Florida governor Rick Scott has sent a convoy of 15 dump trucks to snow bound Washington to help with the clean up, while at the same time promoting to state’s year round sunshine record.
The enterprising tourism promotion features a hitchhiking snowman holding a sign saying ‘Florida-bound’ on each truck, emblazoned with the tagline ‘Sharing the Sunshine.’
It also displays the Visit Florida social hashtag #LoveFL.
"Florida is glad to help Washington, DC dig out from the snow I have seen on my visit here this week," Gov. Scott said.
"Our state will provide 15 dump trucks with a message of ‘Sunshine’ to encourage residents as they clean up and recover."
The trucks ‘are a friendly reminder to our chilly northern neighbors that we have plenty of sunshine and warm weather for them to enjoy,’ Will Seccombe, president and CEO of Visit Florida said.
Last weekend’s storm dumped nearly 30 inches of snow on the capital’s streets.
