Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau has recently named Stacy Ritter as new president and CEO, replacing long serving Nicki Grossman who retired earlier this month.
Ritter is a former Broward County commissioner and was also elected mayor in 2008.
As mayor she was an advocate for improvements at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Ritter will oversee a $24 million operating budget at the CVB driving sales and marketing development including national and international advertising and public relations.
Last year Fort Lauderdale welcomed a record 15.4 million tourists, generating $ 14.2 billion.
It has set a target of 16 million visitors in 2017.
