American Airlines has announced a series of enhanced in-flight services including the return of full meal service in economy on a select few flights.
American will start offering free cookies or pretzels again in economy on transcontinental flights between New York and San Francisco or Los Angeles from this month
It will then expand it to other domestic routes this year.
In May, American will then resume a full meal service for coach passengers between Dallas and Hawaii.
"We know that we have customers who select our airline based on price and we’re really excited to offer them a product that is superior to choosing an ultra-low cost carrier," Fernand Fernandez, vice president of global marketing at American.
Free snacks in coach are now back on all three big carriers after United Airlines brought back the perk beginning yesterday.
Delta has always offered complimentary snacks.
American is also beefing up complimentary entertainment on domestic flights with up to 40 free movies, 60 TV shows and 300 music albums.
