Freedom-class ships to gain Oasis enhancements

Features of the world’s largest cruise ship are to be introduced onto two other vessels in the Royal Caribbean International fleet.
Dining, entertainment, children’s facilties and other elements on 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas are being introduced to Freedom-class ships Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas from early in 2011.
An unnamed Broadway show will be staged on Liberty of the Seas after Hairspray made its cruise ship debut on Oasis of the Seas and Chicago The Musical is to appear on sister vessel Allure of the Seas when its enters service in December.
Oasis of the Seas’Royal Babies and Tots nursery will be added to Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas, offering care for babies between six and 36 months old.
Large outdoor video screens similar to those which form part of Oasis of theSeas‘ Aquatheater will appear on board Freedom of the Seas and Libertyof the Seas.
The 18.5-foot video screen on each ship will overlook the main family pool area and feature films and entertainment programmes.
Plasma and LCD touch screen signs will be placed throughout each of the ships to provide information about on board activities, real time updates, directions and routing, as well as ship facts.
Boutique bakery Cupcake Cupboard will be added to Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas.
The Vintages lounge on each ship will be refurbished with wines by the glass from Enomatic serving systems.
The company’s senior vice president of hotel operations Lisa Bauer said: “We have received such overwhelmingly positive guest responses to amenities, entertainment and programmes that we debuted on Oasis of the Seas that we are introducing some of them aboard Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas"
