An Indian flier irked by a long tarmac delay took his complaint all the way to the very top, and was promptly arrested.
Annoyed at being held up for three hours at Mumbai Airport, Nitin Verma tweeted PM Narendra Modi for help, saying the flight looked to be ‘hijacked.’
"@narendramodi Sir we have been in Jet Airways flight for past 3 hrs, looks like hijacked, pls help," he tweeted.
That got security agencies mobilized who promptly arrested him after the Delhi bound flight was diverted to Jaipur.
He was removed from the flight and questioned by the Central Industrial Security Force for several hours.
A security sweep of Mumbai Airport was also conducted.
"Since he created panic, a case would be registered against him," said MP Bansal, Jaipur Airport director.
Verma is facing a charge of criminal intimidation.
