Gatwick to Liberia flights launched
Astraeus will begin a twice-weekly flight between London Gatwick and the West African nation of Liberia in January.
Starting January 15, it will operate Monday and Friday departures from North Terminal to Monrovia’s Roberts International Airport.
“The move is seen both as recognition of Liberia’s post war ability in attracting overseas investment, and extending the airline’s unique style in connecting UK with West African nations to date including Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Cape Verde, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea,” said a spokesman.
“Whilst bringing Monrovia closer to thousands of Liberians resident throughout Britain, Europe and beyond, the airline is also targeting the large North American population of Liberians who are already aware of Astraeus’ service from London to Freetown currently enjoyed by neighbouring Sierra Leoneans.”
