Visit Greater Palm Springs is hitting the road across the UK and Ireland.

As part of the #palmspringsroadtrip campaign, it will be touring a branded airstream trailer, converted into a quintessential Palm Springs midcentury modern living space.

It travels around the UK and Ireland to educate consumers and trade about the destination.

It will last for the first two weeks of September until the 17th.

It kicks off at the annual automotive garden party, the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace.

Visitors have the opportunity to journey to the destination via a Virtual Reality experience.

They can sample signature beverages and local brands including Brandini Popcorn, while learning more about the nine resort cities of Greater Palm Springs.

The airstream will then make its way to Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin on 7 September, Register Square, Edinburgh on 11 of September, and Exchange Square,  Manchester on 13 September.

It finishes off at Westfield White City, London on the 16 and 17 September.

Visit Greater Palm Springs has partnered with a key tour operator in each city: London – Audley Travel, Dublin – American Holidays, Edinburgh – Barrhead Travel and Manchester – Gold Medal.

Agents are being invited to visit during the day and take part in short training sessions.

Scott White, CEO, Visit Greater Palm Springs, said: “Our converted airstream is a nod to the historic midcentury architecture and Palm Springs vibe that has influenced movies, fashion and design.”

“Past visitors to our destination tell us they wish they had stayed longer, so we hope this tour will encourage people to learn more.”

“This year we’re investing more than we ever have in the UK/Irish markets.’

The roadshow events will see Palm Springs artists and designers showcasing Palm Springs themed wares and artwork.

The airstream has VR headsets installed to allow visitors to virtually explore the destination.

It includes experiencing the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, off-road jeep tours of the San Andreas fault and the landscape of Joshua Tree National Park.

Consumers will also have the chance to win a seven-day trip to Palm Springs where they will be treated to flights, hotel accommodation and the destination’s top attractions.
