Hawaii Tourism Authority announced new executive hires

Having recently announced the appointment of a new CEO, Hawaii Tourism Authority has filled two more senior posts.

Keith Regan has been hired as chief administrative officer and Karen Hughes becomes the new vice president of marketing and product development.

Hughes and Regan start their roles on December 17.

Regan served as managing director for Maui County, and will manage the HTA’s operations, which includes the Hawaii Convention Center.

Hughes leads the tourism marketing strategy for the HTA, tourism research, and developing new tourism programs.

She was vice president of Meet Hawaii and managed travel industry partnerships for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.

Hughes previously served as regional vice president for sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

The organization now has its top three executive positions filled for the first time since early 2018.
