Heathrow reinstates red list terminal
London Heathrow Airport has restored Terminal 4 as a dedicated red list passenger facility.
It will enable passengers arriving from high-risk countries to remain separate from other travellers.
These are from South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Botswana, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Angola, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.
It is Heathrow’s response to the risk posed by the Omicron variant.
The airport is adopting a ‘safety first approach.’
The red list was only brought back last week due to the emergence of the new variant.
"We are supportive of measures that protect public health and prevent the spread of Covid," Emma Gilthorpe, COO at Heathrow, said.
"Heathrow maintains the highest levels of Covid-secure measures to ensure our passengers, colleagues and partners know that Heathrow is a safe place to travel to and from."
Heathrow closed the terminal last month when all countries were removed from the red list.
