Hong Kong – Singapore travel bubble could be revived

The Hong Kong – Singapore travel bubble could soon be resurrected.
The South China Morning Post says government officials from both sides have resumed talks but beyond that there are no further details.
The highly awaited quarantine-free travel bubble was originally expected to begin last November but was suspended at the last minute after a new wave of Covid cases in Hong Kong.
By the point, several flights between the cities had already sold out.
It was then put on hold indefinitely.
Hong Kong’s Tourism Commission and Singapore’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed talks have resumed.
"Overseas economies that are relatively stable with the pandemic and have close economic and trade relations with Hong Kong have proposed to explore the establishment of ‘tourism bubble,’ a commission spokesman said.
They would announce ‘more details when ready’ said Daniel Ng, the Civil Aviation Authority’s Director of Air Transport.
Hong Kong’s daily infections are now down to less than 20 for more than a week, and it is starting a mass rollout of vaccinations from next week.
In 2019 about one million air passengers travelled between the two cities.
