Houston’s George Bush Airport to open newly expanded terminal
The Houston Airport System has announced the upcoming opening of Terminal D-West Pier at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
It opens on 22 October.
The international terminal’s expansion will create over 250 jobs across 16 new dining and retail locations, including local restaurants such as The Annie Café and Bar.
The new terminal will feature gates D1-D6, designed to accommodate larger, wide-body aircraft.
The construction of Terminal D-West Pier is part of the $1.4 billion IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program (ITRP), which aims to modernize the airport’s international travel facilities.
Other major components of this investment include the refurbishment of the existing Terminal D, completed in 2023, and the construction of a new International Central Processor (ICP), set for completion over the next year.
The Houston Airport System has seen record passenger volume at Houston airports bosting inbound tourism.
