IAG Group has confirmed it will invest in two travel start-ups as part of its global accelerator programme Hangar 51.
From around 450 applicants, earlier this year four companies were invited to spend 10 weeks working in the group’s headquarters and given the chance to trial their products globally.
The British Airways’ parent has now chosen to invest in Esplorio and Vchain to further develop their products.
Esplorio is an app that records and shares travel experiences by connecting photos and locations as you go from place to place.
Vchain has developed a prototype that automatically detects errors by airline passengers and enables immediate corrections online.
