IHEI re-launches Green Hotelier magazine
International Hotels Environment Initiative (IHEI) is to re-launch its Green Hotelier magazine in April.
The magazing aims “to inspire, educate and challenge everyone connected with the hospitality industry to achieve more sustainable operation”.
Regular features of the new greenhotelier include:
* A four page pull-out ‘know-how’ section with practical environmental information for hotels and tips for staff responsible for environmental training. In the April issue we look at how to get an environmental programme off the ground
* Profiles on people, such as hotel staff, who have played a major role in successful environmental and corporate social responsibility initiatives
* Profiles on hotels that are under construction or refurbishment where the guiding principle is on environmentally sensitive siting and design and efficient use of resources
* A new section focusing on individual destinations. This will look at the key issues for the destination in terms of its communities and the environment and whether there is a co-ordinated approach to sustainable tourism development. It will include best practice case studies of low-impact accommodation and environmentally proactive hotels. Activities for visitors that minimise environmental impacts or have a positive effect on local communities will also be featured.
The April feature will be on environmentally preferable paints and wall coverings.
Readers will also find the latest hospitality industry environmental news, sustainable tourism trends and information about forthcoming events around the world.
Greenhotelier is sponsored by: Hilton International, Marriott International, Rezidor SAS Hospitality and Six Continents Hotels, Ecolab, Enviro-Fresh Solutions and Grohe.
Greenhotelier is published quarterly in April, July, October and January. To subscribe contact:
