After a spate of maintenance issues, regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has conducted spot checks at several airlines.
Over a dozen flights were diverted due to safety or malfunctioning issues in recent weeks.
Spot checks have found improper reporting of defects, and a shortage of certified technicians on duty to deal with aircraft turnarounds.
“All aircraft must be released by certifying staff holding AME Category B1/B2 licence with appropriate authorisation,” the DGCA said.
It set a July 28 deadline for rectifying issues.
