Indian airline Vistara bids farewell
By the end of today, India’s full service airline Vistara will be no more.
Vistara flights will end and be officially absorbed into flag carrier Air India.
Starting November 12, all Vistara flights will be integrated into Air India’s booking platform as part of the merger.
All existing Vistara flights will be given new AI flight codes.
Vistara’s loyalty program, Club Vistara, will be fully integrated into Air India’s Flying Returns program by November 12.
This will see Club Vistara points, tier points, and status benefits transferred to Flying Returns.
Air India has made various network adjustments from November 12 to December 31, 2024, in order to minimise any teething problems and overlapping services.
It will drop current flights to Frankfurt and Paris
Vistara was a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines.
Tat Sons later acquired Air India.
Singapore Airlines renegotiated its stake with Vistara to convert it to a shareholding in Air India.
SIA is now increasing this stake and will have a 25.1% stake in the combined Air India business.
