Israel seals borders to shut out new variant
Israel closed off its borders to all foreign nationals as it takes no chances with the Omicron Covid variant. Borders were closed to non-citizens at midnight Sunday with Israelis returning home now subject to stricter measures. They must take a PCR test at Ben Gurion Airport and then go into home quarantine.
Vaccinated arrivals must spend at least three days in quarantine and then take another PCR test. The measures are valid for two weeks. Two cases of the Omicron variant have been found in Israel so far.
