JetBlue is launching a third route to Barbados with daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Grantley Adams International Airport.
CEO Robin Hayes made the announcement during a keynote address at Caribbean Tourism Organization’s State of the Industry Conference in Curacao and is set to begin in April 2016, subject to approval.
Flights will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.
"Barbados is a terrific example of a destination where we have a true partnership with the tourism ministry, the airport, and local hoteliers. We are working together to expand travel options to this incredibly beautiful island, boosting tourism and the local economy," Hayes said.
"Vibrant Caribbean communities like Barbados are critical to our success."
The new flight announcement comes ahead of JetBlue’s launch of new non-stop seasonal Saturday flights between Boston and Barbados on November 7.
The airline also flies to the island from New York, and will roll out the premium Mint seasonal service from JFK to Barbados on the same date.
