Jetstar flight attendants vote for 9%
Jetstar jas announced that its flight attendants have voted in favour of a 9% rise over three years.
77% of the airline’s 573 domestic flight attendants endorsed the new enterprise bargaining agreement (EBA) during a vote, with the new three year collective agreement backdated to July 1, 2006 and featuring 3% annual rises.
The agreement has already been endorsed by the Flight Attendants Association of Australia (FAAA) and will shortly be lodged with the Office of the Employee Advocate.
Jetstar chief executive Alan Joyce welcomed the new agreement, saying “The new three year agreement is mutually beneficial to both Jetstar flight attendants and the airline, with increases in pay linked to future productivity gains, adding, “The strong endorsement of the agreement followed a constructive consultation process between Jetstar management, the FAAA and our cabin crew group in the lead-up to today’s vote outcome.”
