Jetstar to launch low fares to Asia today
Jetstar will announce its launch fares and holiday packages, flight schedule and innovative two class product for future low fare international flights from Australia to destinations including Bangkok and Phuket, Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Osaka (Japan) today at 10.30am.
Proposing to commence low fare long haul international services in November 2006, the commercial sales and product launch will take place in Sydney with fares to go live on sale, including at Jetstar.com.
The airline’s initial long haul network also includes direct services to Bali and Honolulu from Sydney and Melbourne. Jetstar’s long haul international flights will operate either from Sydney, Melbourne and/or Brisbane.
“We will go very hard on fares on our commercial launch. There’s no question they will be unprecedented fares,” the Jetstar spokesman, Simon Westaway, said.
