Kenya sees jump in UK visitors

Wednesday, 1 September 20103 min read

The number of UK visitors to Kenya rose 14 per cent in July compared to the same month last year, according to the tourist board.

A total of 23,973 British visitors travelled to the East Africa country in July 2010, leading to a seven percent increase year on year.

The tourist board said that the rise in UK visitors was in line with a sharp increase in global visitor numbers, which were up nearly 20 percent overall. The UK is Kenya’s largest market.

Figures for July this year surpassed ones for July 2007, which was Kenya’s best year to date.
