Las Vegas is bidding to secure direct Japan flights to boost tourism and gaming revenues.
Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority Chair Steve Hill wants nonstop Japan flight service to drive traffic from an important source market.
Hill says Sin City was on the brink of getting direct air service just before the pandemic hit.
Discussions with airlines are omgoing, Hill said.
Japan has just approved its first legal casino resort but is still many years away from opening.
Even without a nonstop route, Japan has been a key market for Las Vegas.
