Last chance to book a table at the British Travel Awards
With less than three weeks to go until the winners of the 2018 British Travel Awards are announced on November 28, travel companies are gearing up for the big night.
With an ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ theme the travel industry guests will, very appropriately, be able to experience all four corners of the globe at the ever-popular Battersea Evolution venue.
From ancient Egypt, via the souks of Marrakech and ornate temples of Japan, to the snowy hills of Kathmandu, all illuminated by the Northern Lights.
Actor, comedian, TV and radio presenter Miles Jupp will host the event this year.
His credentials include Have I got News for You, QI, Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo and James and Jupp.
As an actor he has appeared in the award-winning BBC sitcom Rev, The Thick of It and Outnumbered and for Radio 4 Extra he starred as the hapless deputy museum curator in Plum House with Simon Callow and Jane Horrocks.
Most recently he has appeared in The Crown on Netflix, Howards End for the BBC and the Durrells and Bad Move for ITV.
Theatre credits include the National Theatre’s highly acclaimed production Rules for Living and film credits include Made in Dagenham and the Look of Love.
An entertainment packed evening includes dancers, acrobats, Chinese dragons and Cirque performers as well as a live band and DJ to get everyone on the dance floor after the BTA’s presentations.
BTA CEO Lorraine Barnes Burton said: "The BTAs Gala Night is always a superb night; a chance to dress up, an entertainment packed evening with a glamorous pre-awards drinks reception, a sumptuous dinner with wine and live entertainment, brilliant travel industry networking and for some the excitement of winning a coveted British Travel Award."
This year the charities to benefit from the silent auction and industry donations will be the NSPCC and the Family Holiday Association.
The British Travel Awards is a proudly independent organisation, with consumer votes verified by leading global business practitioners, Deloitte.
The BTAs are the only travel industry accolade voted for exclusively by the travelling public, and the Awards serve to recognise all that is great about travel, as experienced by the travelling consumer.
