Loganair to take over Flybe flights from East Midlands
Loganair has confirmed it will take over Flybe’s routes from East Midlands to Edinburgh and Glasgow from Sunday October 27.
The Scottish carrier said 150,000 passengers a year travel on the two routes, which Flybe is dropping.
Loganair launched its first flights from East Midlands at the beginning of this month with flights to Brussels and Inverness.
It will also launch flights from East Midlands to Aberdeen on February 24.
Loganair will use a 49-seat Embraer 145 jet on flights between the Midlands and Edinburgh, offering up to four flights each way every weekday, which is twice as many as currently available.
There will also be a Saturday morning flight and a choice of Sunday departures.
To Glasgow, there will be two flights every weekday, also operated by a 49-seat Embraer jet, plus weekend flights.
Loganair said the Glasgow service will be upgraded to three flights in each direction on weekdays early next year.
Flybe customers who have already booked flights between East Midlands and Edinburgh and Glasgow will be contacted by the airline and given the option to rebook with Loganair.
