Friday, 22 Mar, 2006 0

Malev is to operate from Gatwick to Budapest as well as Heathrow from May.

The Hungarian carrier is starting 12 flights a week from Gatwick from May 1.

The new Boeing 737 service is in addition to a double daily frequency from Heathrow.

Fares from Gatwick start at £87 return including taxes and charges, £5 cheaper than the lowest rate from Heathrow.

UK country commercial manager Doros Theodorou said: “The departure times will benefit both the business and leisure market wishing to travel to Budapest as well as offering good connections within our extensive central and eastern European network.”
